Project Objective

Design and implementation of new feature and customization of the existing extranet portal developed using Windows SharePoint Services. The extranet portal helps RSC customers provide insurance services such as claims, certificate requests, and renewals to their clients

Customer Challenges

  • The site was originally developed using out of the box features of SharePoint but required customization to make it more robust, user friendly and secure
  • The required changes needed to be implemented in a way which would require zero downtime to the production environment

Trigent's Solution

Trigent setup a working model to address the customer challenges, which would also provide other benefits. Trigent’s offshore SharePoint team collaborated with the customer, to gather detailed requirements, design and develop the solution in a test environment, provided a demo to the customer, solicited feedback and approval and deployed it in the production environment. This model enabled new feature turn around on a day to day basis. Some of the features and customizations were:

  • Securing the extranet portal
  • Customization for role based page redirection, authentication, authorization and User Management
  • Custom error pages for both planned and unplanned portal outages
