Integrating SharePoint with a Compliance Management Product

Our client provides software solutions that enable businesses in regulated such as food processing, general manufacturing, life sciences, and oil & gas industries to utilize compliance efforts to improve overall quality and efficiency. Every industry has its own set of regulatory and customer-driven standards This includes not only managing documentation, but automating key business processes and ensuring critical industry regulations are addressed. Customers find that the workflows are able to increase efficiencies and reduce errors, by improving everything from customer complaint handling to IT work orders. Auditors love the solution for its strict revision control and security features.

Our client needed to enhance the product set by providing Sharepoint integration for its client base to easily access dashboards and KPIs on ad-hoc basis from the data stores, aggregate and analyze data.

Project Objective

To design and develop an enhancement solution to  provide both tabular and graphical dashboard reports on ad-hoc basis. The report data is pulled from the compliance management software product data store and displayed as dashboards in SharePoint.

Customer Challenges

The marketing/sales team needed this enhancement in order to demonstrate the flexibility and value of their product set by allowing them to access the data store in a flexible and efficient manner using Sharepoint with which they were already familiar.

  • Using web part programming and configurable parameters
  • With graphical reporting using charts/graphs features of SharePoint
  • As a quick and easy feature to setup and demo so as to appeal to potential buyers
