Information Management

Find meaning and actionable insights from large, diverse information.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is concerned with the interactions between computers and human (natural) languages. NLP is concerned with programming computers to process a large number of natural language documents.

Natural Language Understanding (NLU) is concerned with how to best handle unstructured inputs that are governed by poorly defined and flexible rules and convert them into a structured form that a machine can understand and act upon.

Semantics-based Research applies domain knowledge (ontologies, dictionaries, and NLP/NLU) to:

  • Identify information sources based on meaning rather than keywords/phrases or tagging
  • Extract only the information of interest from the information source
  • Render the information in a variety of useful ways

The Semantic Web provides standards and technologies for creating and sharing information (via graph database, RDF) and domain knowledge (ontologies [OWL] & dictionaries [URIs]).

Trigent helps our clients convert (in real-time) natural language text into structured forms that a machine can understand and act upon. This is done without indexing or semantic tagging. Trigent helps our clients automate the creation/maintenance of ontologies and dictionaries.

We have 14 years of experience in NLP and NLU systems resulting in 7 granted US patents.
